The Danish Chargé d'Affaires presenta his complimente

to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and has the

honour, in conformity with his instructions, to invite the

Marquia Curzon's kind attention to the following case.

In May 1920 ur, F. 2. F. Prien, now a Danish subject

resident at Haderslev, requested the assistance of the King's

Government in recovering possession of the assets belonging

to himkand his family, which vere sequestrated by the Witish

authorities at HongKong after the outbreak of war in 1914 and

siace transferred to the Custodian of Enemy Property, Mr. Frien

had since 1901 been carrying on busines at Hong Kong as a

tobacconist, but when var val declared between Great Britain

and Germany he was ordered to leave the district, his business

Wah seized and subsequently sold, realizing ♬ 9019,37. He

and his family also possessed cert in arounts in the Shanghai

and Hong Kong Bank; the total of these assets are set forth in the subjointed copy or a statement by the orricial Liquida,
